Stephen Chambers is the sixth generation of his family to make wine at Rosewood since it was established in 1858. He took over the winemaking function from his father, the legendary Bill Chambers, in 2001 and has been quietly working towards making his own mark with a number of international awards already under his belt.
Internationally acclaimed for Muscats, Muscadelles (Tokays) and other fortified wines, the comprehensive offerings include table wines including a number of more unusual alternative varieties such as Gouais and Cinsault.
Visitors to Rosewood’s rustic cellar door are often amazed at the enormous range of wines, the relaxed tasting experience and the lack of pretence in spite of their international reputation. As an added bonus visitors will find a selection of homemade preserves and oils. A visit to Chambers Rosewood winery and cellar door provides a window into generations of winemaking history.
Their goals for the future
‘There are many things I would like to achieve for Chambers Rosewood… Foremost would be to hand the business on to another generation’
